Deep secrets of the heart

“Dear Diary…
Today was a good day. I met an old friend. She was my confidant. I used to pour my heart out to her. Earlier, I used to meet her everyday, but since the mobile phone era took over I could not keep in touch with her.”
Those were the days, when in school, keeping a diary and pouring our mind and hearts out on the pages of it was the thing. Wrote about the good and the bad things that happened in the day. It was a personal journal that was often secretly placed near the bed or under a pillow, but through the years it got replaced by the mobile phone and its charger.
The diary that held deep secrets of the heart and kept hidden in the closet or locked away in a drawer, was taken out only after everybody went to bed. To read it in isolation and relish all the bygone moments used to be the most favourite time of the day.
To choose a diary was quite a task. It should be easy to hide. leather back or glittery and have an inbuilt lock and key. For some, that little key was also a pendant that was worn every day because access to the secret diary is just for the writer.
A personal diary is a window to the soul, a best friend, a therapist and a time-travel machine. Although there is a note making facility in our mobile phones, holding a pen and scribbling on the blank pages of a diary gives the ultimate personal touch and satisfaction.
To keep a journal is not just a trend that faded away with time, it is a therapy that can help an individual grow and evolve.
It helps you find yourself. While you read a few pages from the past, you can sense a pattern and know what kind of person you are.
A diary is also a collection of ideas. It gives you an opportunity to be creative.
If ever you feel lost in life, your diary will give you clarity and help you focus. With a journal of your past victories you can never run out of motivation.
If you want to keep a track of your improvements in life, nobody will tell you better than your own diary.
It acts like a true friend and never asks for attention or time.
So dig deep into your closet to find that long lost friend, patch up and start narrating your life to her because there is so much to catch up.
If you never had a diary, get one and start a beautiful journey through its pages.
