Three minors drown inYamuna

 In a tragic incident, three boys drowned in the Yamuna river this afternoon in the Geeta Colony area.
 The incident occurred at around 1 p m. The deceased have been identified as Manoj alias Prince (12), Golu (14) and Karan alias Kalu (12), all residents of Rani Garden area in Mayur Vihar. They were studying in a nearby government school.
“On Wednesday afternoon, after school, they reached their homes and decided to have a bath in the Yamuna. The three of them were accompanied by two other friends. The striong currents in the river swept them away,” said a senior police official.
 The official said police and fire brigade officials were informed and divers were pressed into service. “The divers fished out the three bodies after an hour. They were rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital where they were declared brought dead,” said the official.  Their postmortem will be conducted tomorrow and their family members have been informed. The boys parents work as daily wage labourers nearby.
