RSS says that Indian Congress proxies behind the Babri

In its first reaction to the sting operation carried out by Cobrapost, the Congress party said that action must be taken against those who have been named in the sting.

"Action should be taken against those who are named in this Babri sting. Such people are enemies of both Hindus and Muslims," Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi said.

Another seer involved in the movement also denied that there had been any planning to demolish the mosque.

The BSP has blamed the BJP, Congress and SP for attempting to polarise votes. "BJP,Congress and even SP try to polarize voters before every elections," Sudhindra Bhadoria of the BSP told ANI. 11:00 am: Congress alleges BJP sponsoring sting to polarise votes The Congress has rejected the BJP’s claims and claimed the party was behind the sting operation in order to polarise votes ahead of the national elections.

"Coming just ahead of the elections, I have to believe that it is being done to influence it. He also said that they had always maintained that the then PM Narasimha Rao had been in the known about the conspiracy but no action had been taken. 10:40 am: BJP leader Goel admits that they had taken dynamite but didn’t have to use it "We have been facing the CBI for over 20 years and I have said before that it was hundreds of committed workers who demolished the masjid," Jai Bhagwan Goel told Times Now.

Goel claimed that it was the five lakh kar sevaks and their work that had managed to demolish the masjid, which he maintained was a Ram temple. He denied claims that a special squad of 38 persons had been trained to demolish the mosque.

"The claims of a Laxman Sena and Ram Sena are all false," he said. However, the BJP leader accepted that they had taken dynamite as a alternative plan in case they failed to demolish the mosque. We had dynamite with us just in case the structure wasn’t demolished but it wasn’t used in any way, Goel said "There was no plan at all.

We had taken the dynamite but we didn’t have to use it," he said. 10:30 am: VHP spokesperson says no new allegations A spokesperson for the VHP has told Times Now that the allegations levelled in the sting operation weren’t new.

"These allegations have been levelled in the past as well but none of it has been proved," he said. The spokesperson said that there were cases ongoing in courts of law, and it was wrong to try and influence the trial in any manner.

10:25 pm: Cobrapost ignores BJP, starts airing sting operation Despite the objection by the BJP, Cobrapost has released the video of its sting operation and has refused to take questions on the matter for now.
