Maoists kill 3 cops in train attack

PATNA, 30 NOV: Heavily-armed Maoists attacked a passenger train in Bihar this evening, killing at least three GRP jawans, and wounding a few others. The Maoists looted the arms of the slain jawans before making good their escape.
Police sources said the Maoists attacked the Sahebganj-Danapur intercity passenger train just when it came out of a tunnel near Jamalpur in Munger district and looted the arms of the cops after shooting them dead. According to the police, the ultras who were travelling on the train disguised as passengers resorted to firing soon after the train left the tunnel. A few passengers, including a woman, have been injured in the attack. The incident occurred at around 6 in the evening. 
“The Maoists have killed three GRP jawans in the attack,” Munger DM Nagendra Kumar Singh told the media today adding that a massive combing operation has been launched to nab the fleeing assailants. It is said some 100 rounds were fired by the Maoists who were well-equipped and carried out their attack in a planned way.
The incident comes shortly after the Maoists put up posters in several districts of central Bihar threatening to eliminating a group of lawmakers, including the BJP leader and former deputy CM, Mr Sushil Modi.
