GINGER TEA: Grate ¼ inch thick piece of ginger in boiling water. Simmer it for five minutes. Strain it in a glass and mix two teaspoons of lemon juice and two teaspoons of organic honey in it. Mix well and sip it hot. Repeat it after every few hours for quick relief.

ONION & HONEY SYRUP: Take an air tight glass container. Slice an onion. Place one slice at the bottom of the container. Pour a layer of organic honey on it. Then again place a slice of onion and top it with another layer of honey. Repeat this process 6 to 7 times. Keep it to rest for 12 hours. After that you will get thick liquid syrup. Drink two teaspoon full of it after every hour till you get relief from cold.

SPICE TEA: Take three cups of water. Add one cinnamon stick, four cloves, ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder and ¼ inch thick piece of ginger (grated). Let it boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain it and add 1 ½ teaspoon of organic honey and juice of half lemon. Drink hot.

RAW GARLIC: Chewing a clove of raw garlic every three to four hours a day is super beneficial for treating cold. When garlic is crushed, a chemical reaction takes place which releases a powerful antibacterial ‘allicin’. It is present shortly after garlic is crushed and before heated. So it is best to be chewed directly as a whole without crushing or chopping it. If you can’t do so, then chop or grind it. Mix it with a spoonful of honey and consume it.

STEAM: Boil water in a container.  Add few drops of eucalyptus oil in it. Inhale the steam covering your head with a towel. Your nasal passage will get cleared and it will reduce inflammation.
