Skill development training to unemployed youths in Arunachal

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki on Monday dedicated the first of its kind Tata Motors collaborated Automobile Workshop and Mechanic trade under Industrial Training Institute, Dirang in West Kameng district for skill development training to the unemployed youths of the state.

He also inaugurated the Job Mela cum skill development awareness and selection rally, an official communiqu informed.

With 70 trainees presently undergoing training in various trades, ITI Dirang has been upgraded to centre of excellence and is poised to become model ITI of the state.

Two more trades were also included viz. tourist guide and wireman in addition to the already existing five trades in the institute on the day.

Addressing the gathering, Tuki informed that Skill Development and Employment generation programme has been taken up by the state government in holistic manner.

We need not have to boast about our success stories as this particular programme has been recognised by many including Government of India and other well developed states have approached us to emulate our programme in their states, Tuki said while citing few awards received by the state government for this particular project.

He further informed that Skill development programme and Job Mela organised time to time by the state government has been very successful as it had illuminated thousands of lives who are now gainfully employed or self employed in various parts of the country and abroad.

The chief minister reiterated his commitment to provide one lakh job by 2017, one each in every family of the state and thirty thousand in the current financial year.

He directed the West Kameng Deputy Commissioner to start conducting family census for identifying families which do not have any member employed or self employed.

Tuki also informed the gathering that the state government has earmarked Rs.150 crores for skill development activities in various sectors in the current year s budget.

Financial assistance to unemployed engineers is being provided to the tune of Rs.20 lakhs through State cooperative Apex Bank to set up small scale industries while skilled youths having certificates will get assistance upto Rs.10 lakhs as soft loan, he said.
