India declare at 377/5, set NZ 434 runs to win

India declared their second innings at 377 for five, forcing the umpires to call for early tea in the the first cricket Test against New Zealand, here on Sunday.

India, thus, set a target of 434 runs for New Zealand to win the match and take an early lead in the three-Test series.

Rohit Sharma was batting on 68 while Ravindra Jadeja was 50 not out as India played 107.3 overs in their second essay.

For Zealand Mitchell Santner (2/79) and Ish Sodhi (2/99) picked up two wickets apiece.
