Sporting Lisbon tie will be special: Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo has said that the group stage game against Sporting Lisbon at the UEFA Champions league on Wednesday is a "special game".

"It’s a special game, they are a special team, they’re got a good coach and it will be another special moment in my life. It’s a privilege for me," Ronaldo said to UEFA media on Monday, reports Efe.

This will be the third time Ronaldo has faced Sporting, after he already played against the Portuguese side in 2007-08 with Manchester United.

Real Madrid will be playing in Group F along with Sporting, Borussia Dortmund and Legia Warsaw, of which the Portuguese star pointed out that Real Madrid lost against Dortmund in the past in the same competition.

As for the Polish side, Ronaldo said: "I’ve never played in Warsaw and I don’t know much about their team to be honest, it will be a new experience."

"Winning the Champions League again is a great challenge and I think at Real Madrid we have the opportunity to do it," he added.
