On the occasion of International Women&’s Day, Bajoria Charitable Foundation has started the first edition of “Kutchina Krritika”, a one of its kind initiative through which they will offer fellowship to support women from various walks of life who are creating an impact in the lives of the underprivileged sections of Indian society. In the first edition three women — Manika Sarkar, Shahina Javed and Tumpa Adhikary — were awarded the fellowship. “Kutchina has revolutionised the Indian kitchen scenario by making contemporary Indian cooking a lifestyle experience for every woman. BCF aims at creating a better tomorrow by recognising and mentoring the women leaders who are creating a positive impact in the lives of the disadvantaged,” said Namit Bajoria, director, Kutchina.

AD The Design School organised a visit for students to Global Education Interact at Hotel Lalit, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi, where participants met university delegates from the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, Canada, Singapore, Switzerland and Ireland. Specially designed to foster the disciplines of art, design and fashion, the event was organised by The Chopras that included a live fashion show, make-up workshops, guidance on formulating a portfolio and interacting with prominent personalities in the industry. Sanjay Saxena from AD The Design School said that it was both informative and entertaining as students could attend a workshop on style tiles a design vocabulary by Mark Fisher from Sheffield Hallam University and another titled “What do you need in a portfolio” by Buddy Penfold from De Montfort University.

 

Fashion route

The JD Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi, is inviting applicants for its Bachelor&’s in fashion and apparel design programme. The course duration is of three years and the seat availability is 100. One should secure a minimum of 45 per cent in +2 from a recognised school or institution in any discipline. The selection procedure comprises of an entrance exam and a situation test, which will assess the candidate&’s aptitude for art and design. Forms are available at all the branches of JD Institute of Fashion Technology across India and can be downloaded from the website: www.jdinstitute.com. The deadline for submission is 20 April.

 

Tech times

The Noida International University recently organised a workshop on “latest trends in technology” to make the students familiar with the corporate world. Over 100 students as well as faculty of the university attended the workshop. “Technology is changing very fast, which is making life easier for the common man and difficult for upcoming engineers. The engineers only through sharing of knowledge can catch the current technological avalanche,” said Saurabh Agarwal, senior consultant, Tata Consultancy Services, Noida. He also gave a glimpse of the recent technology and applications, which are widely used.
