In keeping with Pauline Hanson’s thinking “The majority of aboriginals do not want handouts because they realise that welfare is killing them” lectures about jungle, hills and aboriginals are scheduled to be delivered at Indumati Sabhagriha between 2.00 pm and 8.00 pm today. Biswajit Roy Chowdhury’s film Wind In Maruwa Field and Ujjal Roy’s film Life Is A Symphony will be screened. Nrisingha Bhaduri, Tushar Kanjilal, Miratun Nahar, Suranjan Das will voice their opinions on the occasion. The function will be enlivened by songs by Alok Roy Chowdhury and Sukhbilas Barma. Tributes will be paid to Sukumari Roy Choudhury by Baranrekha little magazine which will bring out its latest number whose theme is forest on this day. We owe the aboriginal people a debt that is centuries old. It is their turn to become full partners in making a happier India. The reconciliation required may be less a matter of legal texts than of attitudes of the heart.
