10 injured in post-poll clashes in Bangladesh

At least 10 people, including three policemen, were injured in Chittagong district of Bangladesh as supporters of a former councillor and a councillor-elect clashed for area dominance on Thursday.

Supporters of councillor-elect Shahed Iqbal Babu and former councillor Farid Ahamad Chowdhury clashed with sharp weapons and firearms around Thursday noon.

Locals say several groups of ruling Awami League have been at loggerheads over the control of the Shershah area. They worked for separate candidates in the April 28 polls, bdnews24.com reported.
