Govt requests Alliance Air to fly to Cooch Behar

The state government has requested Alliance Air, a subsidiary alliance of Air India, to operate ATR-42, a 42-seater aircraft from Kolkata to Cooch Behar.

ATR-42 used to operate from Kolkata to Silchar route. Now the airline has decided to withdraw the aircraft to operate a bigger one from Kolkata to Silchar.

Principal secretary of state transport department Alapan Bandyopadhyay has written a letter to the CEO of Alliance Air to operate the 42-seater aircraft from Kolkata to Cooch Behar.

Airport Authority of India (AAI) constructed a modern integrated terminal building at Cooch Behar airport with necessary manpower and infrastructure to operate it.
