Malda gears up to launch Swasthya Sathi project

The district administration on Wednesday held a workshop for the smooth commencement of the ‘Swasthya Sathi’ project of the state government in Malda.

Fifteen concerned departments like Home, Women and Child Development, Labour and Employment, Finance etc have been asked to submit the names of the beneficiaries on or before the 23rd of this month to set up a database in this connection.

According to sources, beneficiaries having digital ration card must be enlisted according to the ration card number so that the officials who already have the database of ‘Khadya Sathi’ project can set up the Swasthya Sathi database with the help of the data already uploaded for the previous project.

Critical illnesses like cancer, neuro surgeries, cardio thoracic surgeries etc will be covered up to a sum of rupees five lakh and for all this the premium will be paid by the state government and not by the beneficiaries.

A smart card will be issued to the beneficiaries. All the family members no matter how many they are, including the parents of both the spouses, will be covered under the project.
