National Cadet Corps (NCC) will assist Kolkata Police in crowd management during the Durga Puja.The decision was taken in a meeting held between the senior officials of NCC directorate of West Bengal, Sikkim and Kolkata Police at NCC Club House in the city.
Around 4300 NCC cadets will be deployed from Chaturthi (5 October) to Nabami (10 October). On Chaturthi and Panchami NCC cadets will assist from 9 am. to 5:30 p.m. and from Sashtito Nabami, they will be present between 8:00 a.m. and 10 p.m. Colonel Rajesh Singh state joint director of NCC Directorate along with several senior officials were present at the meeting.
