Vijay Mallya’s assets ‘not fully disclosed’

Trying hard to get their money back from Vijay Mallya, banks on Monday told the Supreme Court that the liquor baron had not fully disclosed his assets.

“Vijay Mallya deliberately didn’t make full disclosure of his assets, including $40 million, he received in February,” according to the banks.

The Supreme Court was hearing the matter after Attorney General Mukul Rohtagi said that Mallya has defied court orders by not disclosing his assets completely.

In April this year, Mallya was ordered by the court to disclose his full assets but the order was denied by him stating that his wife and children are all NRIs and are not expected to declare their assets here.

Mallya owes Rs.9,000 crore to 17 banks, and the case has not made any serious progress yet.
