Amit Shah asks Uttarakhand CM Rawat to stop making corrupted money

The ghost of sting operation will continue to haunt Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat as the Bharatiya Janata Party has made it a poll issue. BJP national president Amit Shah raised the TV stings of Rawat and CM’s personal secretary Md Shahid at his party’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ rally in Almora on Tuesday. This is the second BJP rally, after Dehradun, that Shah addressed in the hill state and spoke about TV sting operations.
“We politicians are habitual of charging allegation against other leaders. Like I am doing now on the microphone. But Harish Rawat remains exposed through sting operation. Uttarakhand CM was caught on TV making deal about buying MLAs and his secretary involved in liquor shop deal. Rawat does not deserve a second chance. Throw the Congress out from Uttarakhand,” Shah said, addressing the gathering.
Besides highlighting the sting operation, the BJP chief claimed mass corruption taking place in all development works in Uttarakhand. “What you will do with all the money Rawat ji? You should stop now!” Shah directed at Rawat.
The attack comes one day after Rawat claimed that he was willing to exchange his assets with any of the former chief minister of the state. Rawat was trying to indicate that he was possibly the poorest of all the chief ministers ever.
Shah described the BJP as the real and Congress the step-mother of Uttarakhand.
“Now the child is under the control of the step mother. Because of which the child has lost his health and direction. The BJP created Uttarakhand with big dreams, but with corruption development has stopped here. I feel the poor condition of Uttarakhand will be creating pain to a sick Atal Behari Vajpayee ji, who formed the hill state with high hopes,” he added.
The Almora and Dehradun rally saw Shah giving respect to former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Major-General (Retd.) Bhuwan Chand Khanduri. It is generally observed that Khanduri does not fight for prominent space on stage and silently occupies the empty seat. The ex-CM did this at Dehradun and Almora rallies, but Shah’s reaction created panic in the anti-Khanduri camp. The BJP chief asked Khanduri to occupy the seat next to him and was involved in long conversation with the latter.
