The matter of extending the DMRC Chief’s tenure will be put before the Union Urban Development Ministry as both UD Ministry and Delhi government have 50-50 partnership in the Delhi Metro.
Singh had taken charge as DMRC chief in 2011 succeeding E Sreedharan who had retired after a 16-year tenure.
Singh is an Indian Railways Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer of the 1981 batch and worked with Sreedharan in the Kolkata Metro project. He has been associated with the Delhi Metro since its inception.
