Sisodia urged to provide free education

Vijender Gupta, leader of opposition in Delhi assembly, on Saturday wrote a letter to Manish Sisodia, education minister demanding immediate provision of free education and study material to all children in private school under EWS quota.

He said that on the one hand Delhi government is making tall claims of providing maximum attention to the Education in the budget but on the other hand private schools of Delhi are refusing to implement instructions issued by Education Minister and the Education Department of Delhi Govt.

"Delhi Govt. has taken no strict legal action against any of the private schools so far. If poor children are deprived of Right to Education, BJP along with parents of poor children will fight against it," said Gupta.

As per High Court order, Delhi Govt. was clearly ordered that free uniform, books and writing material will be provided by all unaided private schools to the students admitted under EWS/DG category.

"Under this High Court order, Education Department of Delhi directed the private schools to provide these facilities free of cost to the students. In spite of these directions, private schools are not providing these facilities to the children. Rather they are forcing the parents to buy school uniform, books and stationery from the schools at arbitrary costs," said Gupta.
