ISIS agent arrested from Kullu in HP, to hand over to NIA

An ISIS suspect was arrested from a church at Banjar town in Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday, around 200 kms away from the state capital. 
Confirming the development, Superintendent of Police, Kullu Padam Chand told The Statesman, “We have arrested an alleged ISIS agent identified as Aabib Khan, a resident of North Bengaluru from a Church in Sadhwa area of Banjar Tehsil.” 
“Aabib was hiding in a church under the false identity of Christian Paul for past few days,” he said, adding that he was arrested on the basis of a intelligence input. He is being interrogated by police officials and he would be handed over to NIA.
Sources further said that the suspect was residing in the church since last six months and he kept on travelling to Bengaluru and Kullu consistently. Even he had last visited Sri Lanka but every time, he returned to Banjar then to his home town in Bengaluru.
“Khan allegedly told investigators that he was a firm supporter of ISIS’ cause and was planning to go to Syria to join them,” sources said.  Sources added but first he wanted to meet his girlfriend in Indonesia.
