‘Raaz Reboot’ trailer review: No scares, only affairs

The door creaks. A girl enters.

Without blinking her eyes, she stares at a man sleeping sound in his bed.

She picks up a knife and stabs him.

Scared? No?

Well, that&’s how the trailer of Raaz Reboot begins and takes you into the life of a distressed couple and a forlorn lover.

Starring Emraan Hashmi, Kriti Kharbanda and Gaurav Arora, the film revolves around the life of the married couple Rehaan and Shaina, who move into a new house in Romania.

However, not all is well in their lives. Shaina feels that the house is haunted while Rehaan insists she is just imagining the odd occurrences. Amid the mess, her former lover is the only one who believes her.

“Secrets are the enemy of love,” says Shaina. Indeed! It seems all the characters are hiding something from each other. And the hidden secrets seem to be the biggest trouble for them.

While the horror sequences fail to give the chills or shit the pants, all they do is simply strike a strange similarity with the first film of the famed franchise.

Emraan is said to play the role of a fashion photographer. Gaurav essays an urbane banker, who heads the East European Finance Consortium and Kriti steps in the role of his wife.

Written and directed by Vikram Bhatt, the fourth installment of the Raaz series doesn’t seem to startle or haunt minds with drops of blood, shrieking voices or dead fingers coming in through the door. It surely takes a bit more to freeze the viewers than the same old formula.
