Art of Living signs MoU to enhance skill-based employability in India

To skill Indian youth and create employment opportunities for them, the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) signed a MoU with The Art of Living Digital India Movement. Supporting the ‘Skill India’ initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the move aims to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship among youths in the country.

TSSC CEO Lt Gen (Retd) SP Kochhar and Art of Living Digital India Movement mentor Vikram Diesh signed the MoU on Monday in the presence of its founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Union Minister of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy.
On the occasion, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar motivated the youth to step in for the skill-based employment.
“Digital technology is one of the areas where India has proven its capability. Since majority of our population is young, vocational skill training in this sector can strengthen India’s position in this field globally,” he said in a statement.
Rudy echoed the voice of Sri Sri, saying: “This partnership between TSSC and the Art of Living will provide scale and speed to Prime Minister’s Skill India program. This will help in bridging the employability gap and creating a specialized, skilled workforce.”
TSSC will look to utilise all the centres of The Art of Living Digital India Movement for training and assessment of youths in the Telecom Sector Skill Development Ecosystem.
“Considering The Art of Living’s initiatives and reach in the remotest part of India, TSSC through this partnership will take the support of The Art of Living Digital India Movement to enhance employability and skill development of lakhs of youth,” Kochhar said.
