BSF kills Pak Ranger in retaliatory fire

Giving a befitting reply to the repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan, the Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday shot dead a Pakistan Ranger and injured another in retaliatory fire along the International Border (IB), officials said.
“A Pak Ranger has been killed and another injured in retaliatory fire along the IB in RS Pura and Arnia sectors in Jammu,” the BSF said.
“Pakistani troops violated ceasefire along LoC in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district. Troops guarding the border line retaliated,” an Army officer said.
Earlier in the day, a BSF personnel was martyred and six civilians were injured in a ceasefire violation in Jammu’s RS Pura sector.
According to officials, the BSF jawan, Jitender Kumar died due to splinter injuries as heavy shelling along with fire exchanges between Indian and Pakistani troops that started late Wednesday night continued on Thursday.
