The European Union on Sunday
expressed its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims of
Indore-Patna Express disaster in which at least 120 persons were killed and
around 100 injured when 14 coaches of the train derailed near Kanpur.
A statement by the spokesperson for
EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said the European Union “stands
by the authorities and the people of India in dealing with this tragedy”.
It noted that the train accident
has caused the loss of many lives and hundreds of seriously injured and wished
a speedy recovery to all passengers injured in the accident.
