15,000 faithfuls pledge for peace in NE

Over 15,000 Unitarian faithfuls celebrated the 129th anniversary of the Unitarian Church in Meghalaya and Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Sunday pledging for peace, love and brotherhood among fellow humans.

The church draws its theology largely from the indigenous Khasi religion even as it has its presence in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.

As with traditional Khasi faith, the major emphasis of Khasi Unitarianism is to carry out one’s duty towards God and fellow humans, Rev D Pariat, the President of the Unitarian Church of North East India said.
