Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday directed Chief Secretary V K Pipersenia to take up with railway authorities the issue of snapping of rail communication to Barak Valley following incessant weather.
The Chief Secretary has been directed to ensure that necessary steps are taken to ease the problems faced by the passengers, the Chief Minister said in a statement here.

Rail traffic in Lumding-Silchar section has been disrupted following incessant rainfall for the last few days and fresh landslide at Harangajao on Thursday causing immense difficulty to passengers.
He also urged the railways to take up rail-traffic restoration work on a war-footing and assured all help from the government.
