At least two persons were injured in an acid attack by unidentified miscreants on Saturday.
According to police officers, two miscreants entered the house of Zakir Hussain near Barpeta police station and poured acid on his and his wife’s faces.
Hussain and his wife Sarifan Nesa have been admitted at Barpeta Medical College and Hospital in critical conditions, the police said.

The victims, who are labourers, informed the police that they were attacked because some people wanted to evict them from the house they were living.
Investigations are on to nab the culprits, the police said.
