Leno stands since 2011 between Leverkusen’s post and has made 167 competitive appearances ever since. His performances earned him a call up into Germany’s national squad where he made his debut in May 2016.

"I feel very comfortable here," Leno said. "I have seen a steady development not only with me but within the team. I am totally convinced that the extension is the right move for me."
