Rio 2016: Bindra qualifies for 10 m air rifle finals, Narang crashes out

India’s shooter Abhinav Bindra on Monday qualified for the final round in 10 m air rifle shooting at Rio Olympics. He scored 625.7 points in the qualification round to enter the final round. 

Bindra’s compatriot and London Olympics bronze medalist Gagan Narang could not perform well and failed to qualify for the finals in 10 m air rifle, the same event in which he won bronze in 2012.

He finished on 23rd position with total points of 621.7.

Narang won a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics in 10m air rifle event. He also scored four medals in individual and pair events at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and the 2006 CWG.

Recently, he won the silver medal in 50m rifle prone and bronze in 50m rifle 3 Positions at the Incheon 2014 Asian Games.
