This 25-year-old Maharastra native is India&’s sole rower at the Olympics, and is in action at 5.30pm IST in the Men&’s Single Sculls event. He finished third in his heat to qualify for the semi-finals, and faces a tough test to progress to the final round. He is placed in the third quarter-final of the day, and hopefully this army man will do the nation proud!

Shooting: Heena Sidhu

The first Indian Pistol Shooter to be ranked No.1 in the world, Heena has been winning laurels for the country for many years now. Still only 26, this lass from Ludhiana will be in action at 5.30pm IST in the qualifying round for the Women&’s 25m pistol event. Asian Games silver medallist, Sidhu is a very strong contender for the gold in Rio indeed!

Archery: Atanu Das

Hailing from West Bengal, Das has a round of 64 clash against Nepal&’s Jitbahadur Muktan at 8.06 pm IST in the Mens&’s Individual Archery event.  Training for the Olympics since he was just 14 years of age, now 24, Das has been a superbly consistent performer in recent years.

Men&’s Hockey: India vs Argentina

India suffered a cruel defeat at the hands of refining Olympic champions on Monday night, but have no time to reflect on their loss as Argentina are next. Coach Roelalnt Oltmans has a talented squad at his disposal, and India should be able to overcome their lower ranked opponents. The Group B match is scheduled for 7.30pm IST.

Boxing: Vikas Krishan Yadav

India has only sent three boxers this time around, but Vikas Krishnan Yadav undisputedly is India&’s brightest hopes of an Olympic medal in Rio. His Round of 32 Middle 75kg bout will be telecast late at 2.30 am IST, but those staying up late will not be disappointed, that is a guarantee. The Asian Games gold medallist has a tricky opponent in American Charles Conwell, but Bhiwani&’s biggest star is expected to reach the semi-finals at least.t. Asian games silver medallist, Sidhu is a very strong contender for the gold in Rio indeed!
