Vizag Test: India thumps England by 246 runs to take series lead

Debutant Jayant Yadav (1, 38, 3/30), along with other spinners, powered India to an emphatic 246 runs victory over England in the second Test at Vizag on Monday. With this, the Virat Kohli-led side has taken a lead (1-0) in the five-match Test series.
England appeared under pressure since the start of the Test as they were wrapped for 255 runs in the first innings, while their second innings saw them cripple at 158. Eight of their batsmen were dismissed on the last day.
It took just a session and five overs for India to assure their victory. Spectators at Vishakhapatnam witnessed a turnaround as England were dominating the first Test earlier which ended in a draw.
Aggressive right from the start, India posted 455 runs in their first innings and 204 runs later in the second innings to give England a tough target of 405 runs.
Spinners laid magic on turf as leading spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (5/67, 3/52) had a support troop this time in shapes of tweaker Ravindra Jadeja (1/57, 2/35) and off-spinner Yadav, who was the most talked-about subject on his debut.
Skipper Kohli was given the Man of The Match award for his heroic 167-run knock in the first innings that was followed by 81 runs in the second innings. Besides Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara struck establishing 119 runs in the first innings.
The PCA Stadium in Mohali will host the third Test on Saturday, where England will surely look to bounce back.
