A new focus on British rule

Jon Wilson’s Britain’s Raj and the Chaos of Empire – India Conquered, a nuanced novel which gives a powerful insight on the marked infirmities of the otherwise considered sovereign and regal British Empire in India, was launched on 17 August at Oxford Bookstore, Park Street.

The event was presented by Oxford Bookstore and Simon and Schuster. Dr. Jayanta SenGupta, Director of Victoria Memorial hall and Director-in-Charge of Indian Museum and the Anthropological Survey of India and Barun Chanda, actor and writer, were the honourable guests of the evening.

The packed audience consisted of industry stalwarts and academics, rapt in attention as the mystery of the British Rule unfolded.

The sensitive and intricate issues were unveiled and brought into the notice of everyone present, which had otherwise remained concealed so far.

It was a beautifully conducted session unveiling and showering light on the chaotic ways of the British Rule.
