Cultivating awareness

West Bengal Heart Foundation and Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission took a noble initiative by organising a life saving workshop for students to help people encountering heart attacks on 19 September. The workshop was on Basic Life Support and symptom recognition of heart disease and heart attack. West Bengal Heart Foundation is a non-government organisation that is formed with the idea to propagate awareness regarding heart diseases among the common people and patients. It also helps patients to get adequate information regarding heart healthy life styles so that heart patients can live a happy and productive life without much anxiety and fear. The primary goal of this workshop was to educate young children about the required necessities taken while a family member at home or an old person on road suddenly goes through the pangs of heart attack. The actions taken during the first few minutes can actually save a life and gives one enough time to make emergency calls or rush to the hospital. This interactive workshop imparted all the informative and practical knowledge.
