One too many

Besides being a boon for Delhi’ites, the Metro has its other uses as well. A place of rendezvous for friends and the young, a station is often a landmark for people finding their way around. Metro pillars, all of which are numbered, the figures prominently displayed on them, serve as part of the address.

Inside the station too, when one wants to meet up with someone, who is also taking the Metro, the various book stalls, kiosks andeateries serve as a point of reference or meeting place. Of all the stations, Rajiv Chowk is very popular, being centrally located and connected with almost every line.

One of the favourite meeting points has been Café Coffee Day, which began with one outlet on the Dwarka line and later set up another on the opposite side. Now, a colleague noticed, there are three CCD restaurants and one could easily get confused about the right outlet to go to if one were to set up a meeting there.
