Set up to cut down pollution and add to the greenery amidst a concrete jungle, the roadside gardens on both flanks of Hazra Road are a bane to the pedestrians as the shrubs have lessened the width of the pavement. But after some local people raised the issue before a civic body representative, pat came the reply “After all, these gardens have made it impossible for pavement dwellers to settle down”.
