Prolonged worship

The kash flowers are blooming and blue and white clouds are slowly appearing above thereby giving the touches which nature gives to durga puja, the biggest festival of the state. The community pujas have started erecting their pandals and are vying with themes which vary from a one goddess with a thousand arms to another which is based on Tagore&’s Ghare-Baire. Meanwhile, the household pujas have struck to their traditions. One such puja will be performed at Mohan Vrindaban Mandir at 20 A/ 44 Seal Lane near Seal Lane post office. The puja will start on 24 September and will continue 11 October, a total of 18 days. The rituals of the worship strictly adhere to the canons laid down in Shulapani&’s Durgotsav Vivek. Hymns from the four Vedas, Ramayan and Chandi will be recited daily by acknowledged masters from Benaras and Vrindaban. All are welcome.
