HC grants interim bail to Puri servitor

The Orissa High Court today allowed servitor of Puri’s Jagannath Temple Rabi Dash to go on an interim bail for three weeks from September 28 to October 18 to be with his ailing wife.

After vetting through the medical documents submitted in court, Justice DP Dash granted the relief to Dash.

Dash was arrested by Puri police on August 25 for his alleged involvement in the attack on mediapersons during Lord Jagannath’s Niladree Bije ritual on July 17.

Dash and several other servitors were arrested under various IPC Sections including 307 (attempt to murder) for allegedly attacking media persons as they showed live one servitor taking his daughter onto the chariots defying a ban by the Orissa High Court.
